Checking Whether Smart Provisioning Is Installed on the V5 Server


Before using Smart Provisioning, check whether Smart Provisioning is loaded to the V5 server. You can use uREST tool to query the Smart Provisioning information to check whether Smart Provisioning is successfully loaded.

For details about how to use uREST tool, see uREST tool 2.0 User Guide. To view or obtain the latest document, log in to the Support-E website, choose Support > Documentation > Servers > Server Management Software > FusionSever Tools > Operation & Maintenance > User Guide.


  • uREST tool is installed.
  • The server type is V5.


  1. Run the following command to query Smart Provisioning information:

    ./urest -H HOST -p PORT -U USERNAME -P PASSWORD getspinfo

    Table 2-1 describes the parameters.

    Specifies the IPv4/IPv6 address or domain name of the iBMC on the server. This parameter is mandatory. If an IPv6 address is used, the IPv6 address must be enclosed in parentheses, for example, [1001::1001].



    Specifies the port number. The default value is 443. This parameter is optional.

    If the actual port number is not 443, enter the actual port number.


    Specifies the user name of the iBMC administrator. This parameter is mandatory.



    Specifies the password of the iBMC administrator. This parameter is mandatory.


    Information similar to the following is disllayed:

    [root@localhost bin]# ./urest -H -U ****** -P ****** getspinfo 
    SysRestartDelaySeconds        : 30 
    SPStartEnabled                : False 
    OSVersion                     : 1.** 
    APPVersion                    : 1.** 
    DataVersion                   : 1.**

    Specifies the system restart delay. The unit is second.


    Specifies whether to enable or disable the Smart Provisioning service.

    • True: The service is enabled.
    • False: The service is disabled.


    Specifies the Smart Provisioning system version.


    Specifies the Smart Provisioning application version.


    Specifies the Smart Provisioning data version.

  2. Check whether Smart Provisioning is installed on the server.
