Upgrading Firmware

Upgrading Firmware

The upgrade duration of the firmware of a single NIC, RAID controller card, or hard disk is within 10 minutes. After an upgrade is complete, you need to manually restart the OS for the upgrade to take effect.

  1. Download the firmware package (in .zip format) and digital signature of the component to be upgraded from the Support E website.

  2. Log in to Smart Provisioning. For details, see Logging In to Smart Provisioning.

    The Smart Provisioning main window is displayed, as shown in Figure 12-153.

  3. In the Smart Provisioning main window, click Upgrade.

    The upgrade main window is displayed, as shown in Figure 12-154.

  4. Click on the toolbar.

    The virtual DVD-ROM drive dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 12-155.

  5. Select Directory and click Browse.

    The Open dialog box is displayed.

  6. Select the folder where the firmware package and digital signature are located, and click Open.
  7. Click Connect.

    When Connect changes to Disconnect, the local folder is successfully mounted.

  8. In the upgrade main window, select Firmware and click Next.

    The Select Upgrade Device window is displayed, as shown in Figure 12-156.

    If All Firmware Packages is selected, the information of all firmware packages in the folder will be displayed. If Matched Devices is selected, the information of firmware that can be upgraded will be displayed.

  9. Select the component to be upgraded, and click Next, as shown in Figure 12-156.

    The Upgrade Result window is displayed.

  10. View the upgrade status. If information similar to that shown in Figure 12-157 is displayed, the upgrade is successful.

  11. Click Exit to return to the Smart Provisioning main window.
  12. Manually restart the OS for the upgrade to take effect.
