Description

AMPADP/2/ONT_LOS: OID [oid] The fiber is broken or ONT can not receive any expected optical signals.

This alarm is reported if the optical fiber is disconnected or an ONT cannot detect any expected optical signal.

Impact on the System

Data links are interrupted, and data cannot be properly transmitted. As a result, services are interrupted on the ONT.

Possible Causes

  • Cause 1: The optical fiber is interrupted.

  • Cause 2: The quality of the optical path deteriorates.

  • Cause 3: A hardware fault occurs on the ONT.

Procedure

  1. Check the optical fiber.

    • If the optical fiber is loose or disconnected, reconnect the optical fiber to ensure that the optical fiber is connected correctly and securely.
    • If the optical fiber is aged out, bent, or damaged, replace the optical fiber.
    • If the optical fiber connector is dirty, clean it.

    After any of the preceding operations, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If so, go to step 4.

    • If not, go to step 2.

  2. Reset or replace the ONT, and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If so, go to step 4.

    • If not, go to step 3.

  3. Collect alarm and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
  4. End.
