Configuring Auto-Config Across Different Network Segments
The device that is on a different network segment than the DHCP server can have Auto-Config configured to automatically load the system software, patch file, and configuration file for remote device deployment.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before configuring Auto-Config on the device that is on a different network segment than the DHCP server, complete the following tasks:
- Ensure that routes between the DHCP server, DHCP relay, file server (FTP/TFTP/SFTP server), and device are reachable.
- Ensure that no startup configuration file exists on the device.
