Before configuring Auto-Config on the device that is on the same network segment as the DHCP server, complete the following tasks:

  • Ensure that routes between the DHCP server, file server (FTP/TFTP/SFTP server), and devices are reachable.
  • Ensure that no startup configuration file exists on the device.

Configuration Procedure

As networking environment requires, Auto-Config, intermediate file, DHCP server, and file server can be configured on different devices in any sequence. After the preceding configuration tasks are complete, the device is powered on to run the Auto-Config process.
