Licensing Requirements and Limitations for HSB

Licensing Requirements and Limitations for HSB

This section provides the points of attention when configuring HSB.

Involved Network Elements

Other network elements are not required.

Licensing Requirements

HSB is a basic feature of the device and is not under license control.

Feature Limitations

  • HSB allows only two devices to back up each other. In addition, the model and software version of the two devices must be the same.

  • Only firewall HSB is supported.

  • In a hot standby system, the master and slave systems exchange TCP plain-text data, which brings security risk. It is recommended to configure IPSec between the master and slave systems to protect data.
