Overview of DAA

Overview of DAA

Destination Address Accounting (DAA) technology implements accounting based on the destination addresses users access.

On a network where users need to pay for the network access service, the Internet service provider (ISP) does not charge the users when they access only internal network resources or charges these users a little money. However, the ISP charges the users a lot of money when they access external network resources.

DAA technology separates the campus network from the external network. To be specific, DAA differentiates services according to destination addresses and enforces different traffic statistics collection and accounting policies. Therefore, DAA helps ISPs implement delicacy operation and accounting based on service types.
