Using URL Filtering to Regulate Online Behaviors

URL filtering is often deployed on an enterprise gateway to accurately manage online behaviors of users who access network resources through HTTP/HTTPS.

As shown in Figure 7-11, the device is deployed at the network edge and works as the enterprise gateway. When enterprise users send HTTP/HTTPS requests, the device uses URL filtering to control websites that enterprise users access. For example:
  • The device allows enterprise users to access learning and education websites.
  • The device prevents enterprise users from accessing game and violence websites.
