Unbound Hosts Can Go Online After IP and MAC Bindings Are Configured

Fault Description

After IP and MAC bindings are configured, the unbound hosts can go online.

  1. Check whether static binding entries have been configured.

    Run the display dhcp static user-bind { { interface interface-type interface-number | ip-address ip-address | mac-address mac-address | vlan vlan-id } * | all } command to view static binding entries.

If no static binding entries exist, the IP addresses and MAC addresses may not be correctly bound. Check whether the IP addresses and MAC addresses are bound using the arp static ip-address mac-address command. This command configures static ARP, but not IPSG. Static ARP cannot prevent unbound hosts from going online.

  2. Configure static binding entries.

    Run the user-bind static { { ip-address | ipv6-address } { start-ip [ to end-ip ] } &<1-10> | mac-address mac-address } * [ interface interface-type interface-number ] [ vlan vlan-id [ ce-vlan ce-vlan-id ] ] command to configure static binding entries.

After the binding entries are configured, run the ip source check user-bind enable command on the specified interface or VLAN. Then unbound hosts cannot go online.
