(Optional) Configuring Electrical Meter Box Opening Detection

(Optional) Configuring Electrical Meter Box Opening Detection

Context

To prevent unauthorized personnel from opening the meter box for meter tampering, users want to detect the meter box status in a timely manner. You can connect the DI interface of the DCU to the meter box cover and run a command to associate the DCU with the DI interface state amount. Opening and closing the meter box cause the state amount change of the DI interface. The DCU detects the state amount change of the DI interface to switch the electrical meter on or off:
  • When the meter box is opened, the DCU detects the state amount change of the DI interface. The DCU interrogates data and records the status of the downstream electrical meter, and then switches the electrical meter off.

  • When the meter box is closed, the DCU detects the state amount change of the DI interface. After receiving the switch-on task that is delivered by the upper-layer application, the DCU restores the electrical meter status.

NOTE:

During maintenance, after the meter box is opened, power off the meter box after 10s so that the DCU can interrogate data and record the electrical meter status.
