Clearing MLD Snooping Entries

Context

MLD snooping entries are classified into static and dynamic entries, and they are cleared in different ways.

Static entries cannot be restored after being cleared and can be created when you configure static member ports.

After you clear the dynamic entries, hosts in a VLAN cannot receive certain multicast flows. The hosts receive the multicast flows again only after the hosts send MLD Report messages and the forwarding entries are regenerated on the device.

Procedure

  • Run the undo mld-snooping static-group { group-ipv6-address [ source source-ipv6-address ] vlan vlan-id | all } command in the interface view to remove an interface from a static multicast group.
  • Run the reset mld-snooping group { all | vlan vlan-id } or reset mld-snooping group group-ipv6-address [ source-address source-ipv6-address ] vlan vlan-id command in the user view to clear dynamic group entries.
