Configuring a DHCPv6 PD Client

Pre-configuration Tasks

When the DHCPv6 PD client function is configured on the device, the device dynamically obtains IPv6 address prefix and other network configuration parameters from the DHCPv6 PD server.

Before configuring the DHCPv6 PD client function, complete the following tasks:

  • Configure a DHCPv6 PD server.

  • Configure the DHCPv6 relay agent as service requires.

  • Configure the industrial switch router between the router and DHCPv6 relay agent or PD server.
