Modifying the Undo Tablespace Size

Modifying the Undo Tablespace Size

After the database is created, the default size of the undo tablespace is less than 10 GB. As a result, "undo segment extension" may be frequently displayed during peak hours. To prevent this problem, set the undo tablespace to 400 GB.

SQL> CREATE BIGFILE UNDO TABLESPACE "UNDOTBS3" DATAFILE '+DATA' SIZE 400g autoextend on;
SQL>CREATE BIGFILE UNDO TABLESPACE "UNDOTBS4" DATAFILE '+DATA' SIZE 400g autoextend on;
SQL>alter system set undo_tablespace=UNDOTBS3 scope=both sid='dbn01';
SQL>alter system set undo_tablespace=UNDOTBS4 scope=both sid='dbn02';
