Creating Shared ASM Volumes

The FusionCube database appliance uses FusionStorage for storage and multi-copy technology of FusionStorage for data protection.

NOTE:

Create and mount shared volumes according to the shared volume list in Oracle RAC Shared Volume Plan.

Procedure

Creating Shared Volumes

  1. Log in to FusionCube Center.
  2. Choose Resources > Database > Data Volume Management, and click Create.

    The Create dialog box is displayed.

  3. Create OCR shared volumes in batches.

  4. Create FRA shared volumes in batches.

  5. Create DATA shared volumes in batches.

  6. Choose Resources > Database > Data Volume Management. Check that all volumes have been created.

Mounting Shared Volumes in Batches

NOTE:

You are advised to mount OCR, FRA, and DATA shared volumes in sequence so that all volumes are arranged according to consecutive device names, for example /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc.

  1. On FusionCube Center, choose Resources > Database > Data Volume Management, and click Batch Attach.

    The Batch Attach page is displayed.

  2. Type OCR in the search box on the left, press Enter, and select All.
  3. In the server list on the right, select the database nodes to be mounted with the shared volumes, and click Attach.

    All the OCR shared volumes are mounted.

  4. Enter FRA in the search box on the left, press Enter, and select All. In the server list on the right, select the database nodes to be mounted with the shared volumes, and click Attach.

  5. Enter DATA in the search box on the left, press Enter, and click select All. In the server list on the right, select the database nodes to be mounted with the shared volumes, and click Attach.

  6. Choose Resources > Database > Data Volume Management. Click Attached Volume Info.

  7. Check the shared volumes mounted to all database nodes.
