Account

Account

This section describes how to register an account and configure line match on the IP phone.

Prerequisites

The account has been allocated on the server.

NOTE:
  • In the EC6.X network environment, account information cannot be configured on the web account page or LCD account page.
  • During network environment switching, if the server information has been configured for an account, you need to switch the login mode to phone number and delete the server information configured for the account to avoid authentication failure. If the IP phones are connected to the network management system, server information for accounts in batches can be configured using the network management system.

Setting Parameters on the Web Page

  1. Access the phone web page as an administrator. For details, see Web Page Access.
  2. Choose Advanced > Account.

The page shown in Figure 6-3 is displayed.

    Figure 6-3 Account page

  3. Click Add Account.

The page shown in Figure 6-4 is displayed.

    Figure 6-4 Add Account page

  4. Set the account parameters listed in Table 6-6.

Table 6-6 Parameters for adding an account

    Parameter

    Description

    How to Set

How to Modify the Configuration File

    Account

Indicates the ID used for an account to register with the SIP server. The SIP server uses this ID to identify the account. When you dial a long number (country code+area code+short number), the short number is displayed on the dialing screen. When you place a call using a short number, the IP phone obtains the country code and area code of this short number from the AA server to route the call and query the directory.

    NOTE:

HUAWEI IP Phone 7920 supports a maximum of three accounts, while HUAWEI IP Phone 7960 supports a maximum of six.

Ask the SIP server administrator for an account or directly log in to the SIP server to configure an account as the administrator.

    NOTE:

The phone's first account can be edited but cannot be deleted.

    Parameter: Account

    Location: Device > UserCfg > Account1

    NOTE:

Account1 indicates the first account, Account2 indicates the second account, and so on.

    Example: Account="47002"

    Password

Indicates the password used to register an account with the SIP server.

Ask the SIP server administrator for a password or directly log in to the SIP server to configure a password as the administrator.

    Parameter: Passwd

    Location: Device > UserCfg > Account1 > Auth

    Example: Passwd="admin123456"

    User Name

Indicates the user name, which is provided by the Voice over IP (VoIP) service provider.

    • In a UC1.1, UC2.X, IMS, or third-party network environment, set this parameter based on requirements.
    • In an EC6.X network environment, set this parameter in format of Account@Domain name

    Parameter: UserName

    Location: Device > UserCfg > Account1 > Auth

    Example: UserName="47002@example.com"

    Label Name

Indicates the name of an account displayed on a line button of the IP phone.

(supported only by HUAWEI IP Phone 7960)

    NOTE:

After you set the label name, the IP phone automatically synchronizes it to the server. If Displayname is enabled on the server, the label name will be displayed on the incoming call notification screen of the called party's phone if a call is placed using this account.

    Enter a customized value.

    Parameter: LabelName

    Location: Device > UserCfg > Account1

    Example: LabelName="47002"

    SIP Server

Indicates the SIP server address. Different SIP server addresses can be specified for different accounts.

If this parameter is left empty, the SIP server with which the IP phone registers is used.

    NOTE:

Server 1, Server 2, Server 3, Server 4, and Server 5 represent the active SIP server, standby SIP server, standby SIP server 2, standby SIP server 3, and local SIP server respectively.

When the server switches to Server 4 or Server 5,   is displayed in the status bar of the phone.

Enter the SIP server address based on your actual network environment.

    • In an EC6.X network environment, the SIP server is the USM server. Enter the domain name of the USM server.
    • In a UC2.X network environment, the SIP server is a gateway of the eSpace U1900 series.
    • In a CC network environment, the SIP server is a gateway of the eSpace U2900 series, a UAP3300, or a Session Border Controller (SBC).
    • In a third-party SIP server network environment, the SIP server is a third-party SIP server.

    Parameters: PrimaryRegServerAddress, BackupRegServerAddress, and LocalRegServerAddress

Location: Device > ComCfg > Phone > Server

    Setting:

    • PrimaryRegServerAddress: Set this parameter to the address of the active SIP server.
    • BackupRegServerAddress: Set this parameter to the address of the standby SIP server.
    • LocalRegServerAddress: Set this parameter to the address of the local SIP server.

    Example: PrimaryRegServerAddress="192.168.1.9"

    Proxy Server

Indicates the address of the proxy server. Different proxy server addresses can be specified for different accounts.

If this parameter is left empty, the proxy server with which the IP phone registers is used.

    NOTE:

The IP phone registers with the proxy server with preference. If the proxy server address you have specified is incorrect, the IP phone will continue its attempt to register with this incorrect address and does not register with the SIP server. This will cause a registration failure. Therefore, if the proxy server is not required, leave the address of the proxy server empty.

    • In an EC6.X network environment, enter the signaling IP address of the USM.
    • In an IMS network environment, this parameter is set by administrator.

    Parameters: CallOutProxyServerAddress, CallOutBackupServerAddress, and CallOutLocalServerAddress

Location: Device > ComCfg > Phone > Server

    Setting:

    • CallOutProxyServerAddress: Set this parameter to the address of the active proxy server.
    • CallOutBackupServerAddress: Set this parameter to the address of the standby proxy server.
    • CallOutProxyServer2Address: Set this parameter to the address of standby proxy server 2.
    • CallOutProxyServer3Address: Set this parameter to the address of standby proxy server 3.
    • CallOutLocalServerAddress: Set this parameter to the address of the local proxy server.

    Example: CallOutProxyServerAddress="192.168.1.10"

    SIP Transport

Indicates the SIP transmission mode. Three options are available: UDP, TLS, and TCP.

UDP: short for User Datagram Protocol. This SIP transmission mode applies to networks with insufficient bandwidth.

TCP: short for Transmission Control Protocol. This SIP transmission mode ensures the accuracy of signaling transmission. It is recommended when the network conditions are good.

TLS: short for Transport Layer Security. This SIP transmission mode ensures the security of signaling transmission.

Set this parameter based on requirements.

    • If SIP Transport is set to Default, the account uses the phone's SIP transmission mode.
    • If SIP Transport is set to UDP, TCP, or TLS, the account uses its own transmission mode, free of restrictions by phone settings.
    NOTE:

When SIP Transport is set to TLS, you need to configure the time server or manually set the time to the current time to prevent IP phone registration failure.

    Parameter: TransferMode

Location: Device > ComCfg > Phone > Server

    Setting:

    • 3: Default (UDP)
    • 2: TCP
    • 1: TLS
    • 0: UDP

    Example: TransferMode="3"

  5. After account information is entered, click OK.
  6. Set the line match parameters listed in Table 6-7.
