Importing and Exporting Contacts

You can import and export contacts on the phone web page. In addition, HUAWEI IP Phone 7960 allows users to import and export contacts through a USB device.

Importing and exporting contacts through the LCD screen (supported only by HUAWEI IP Phone 7960)

You can import the contact file in .csv or .vCard format using a USB device. The contact file only in the root directory of a USB device can be imported. Before importing contacts, insert the USB device.

  1. Press the Contacts button.
  2. Press More to navigate to Import and press Import.
  3. Select a contact file to import.
  4. Press Select.

Before exporting contacts, insert a USB device.

  1. Press the Contacts button.
  2. Press More to navigate to Export and press Export.
NOTE:

The exported contact information is saved in a .csv file.

Importing and exporting contacts on the web page

  1. Log in to the phone web page as a user and choose Preferences > Contacts.
  2. On the My Contacts tab, click Import.
  3. Double-click the contact file to import.

  3. Select the contact file format and click Export.
NOTE:
  • When you import a modified .csv contact file to the phone as a new one, ensure that the contact file information is correct and the encoding format is UTF-8.

    For example, you can open the .csv file using Excel, change the cell format to the text format, edit the contact information, and save the file in the CSV (comma delimited) format. After the file is saved, open the file in Notepad and change the file encoding format to UTF-8.
