uPortal Directory

uPortal Directory

This section describes how to set the uPortal directory in the EC6.X network environment.


A uPortal server has been established.


HUAWEI IP Phone 7920/7960 supports the following RCS directory functions:

  • Searching for a contact: On the directory screen, enter your search terms and press the Search softkey. HUAWEI IP Phone 7920/7960 will search for matching contacts from the uPortal server and display the contact information and profile pictures. Then, you can select a contact and place a call or save the contact to your local contact list.
  • Search for the calling or called party' information: After receiving or initiating a call, HUAWEI IP Phone 7920/7960 searches the local contact list for the calling or called number. If no record is found, HUAWEI IP Phone 7920/7960 searches the uPortal server for the contact and displays the search result including the contact information and profile picture on its LCD screen.

Configuration Methods

You can configure an uPortal directory using three different methods, as listed in Table 5-18.

On the eSight management portal, choose Resource > Collaboration Resource > Terminal Device Management > Deployment Management > Configuration file. Select the corresponding configuration file, click , and expand the configuration items. Click the Server tab and set uPortal Server and Port on the page that is displayed.


The TMS delivers the uPortal server address and port number.


On the phone web page, choose Advanced > Server > uPortal Server and modify Server and Port.


On the phone LCD screen, choose Apps > Advanced > Servers and modify uPortal Server and Port.

Table 5-19 lists the directory parameters that you must set.

How to Modify the Configuration File

uPortal Server

Indicates the address of the uPortal server, which must be set in an EC6.X network environment.

Set this parameter to the uPortal server address. Obtain the address from your network administrator.

The value can be an IP address or a domain name.

Example: or

Parameter: UPortalServerAddress

Location: Device > ComCfg > Phone > Server

Example: UPortalServerAddress="" or UPortalServerAddress=""


The uPortal server supports HTTPS by default.


Indicates the port number of the uPortal server.

Value range: 0-65535

Default: 80

Parameter: UPortalServerPort

Location: Device > ComCfg > Phone > Server

Example: UPortalServerPort="443"

Directory Server

Indicates the directory type.

Select uPortal.

Parameter: Type

Location: Device > ComCfg > EADDR


  • 1: LDAP directory
  • 2: uPortal directory

Default: 2

Example: Type="2"


Indicates the address of the directory server.

You are advised to use the value delivered by the uPortal server.

Parameter: PrimaryEaddrServerAddress

Location: Device > ComCfg > Phone > Server

Example: PrimaryEaddrServerAddress="" or PrimaryEaddrServerAddress=""

Image Server

Indicates the address of the profile picture server.

You are advised to use the value delivered by the uPortal server.

Parameter: primaryAddr

Location: Device > ComCfg > ImageServer

Example: primaryAddr="" or primaryAddr=""
