This section describes how to configure automatic batch configuration, automatic upgrade, and manual upgrade.

  1. Access the phone web page as an administrator. For details, see Web Page Access.
  2. Choose Advanced > Upgrade.

    The Upgrade page is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-12.

    How to Set

    How to Modify the Configuration File

    Automatic Deployment

    Indicates whether to enable automatic deployment. After automatic deployment is enabled, the IP phone obtains the URL of the UPF file from the DHCP server once it is powered on. According to the addresses specified in the UPF file, the IP phone obtains the configuration file, firmware version file, and other necessary files for update.

    Default: Enable

    Parameter: enable

    Location: Device > ComCfg > AutoDispose

    Value: 0 or 1

    • 0: disable
    • 1: enable

    Example: enable="1"

    Automatic Upgrade

    Indicates whether to enable automatic upgrade. With automatic upgrade enabled, the IP phone periodically detects whether new upgrade files are available on the server and if there is any, automatically upgrades its version.

    See Automatic Upgrade.

    Default: Disable

    Parameter: ISAUTOUPG

    Location: Device > ComCfg > UpgrdCycInfo

    Value: 0 or 1

    • 0: disable
    • 1: enable

    Example: ISAUTOUPG="1"

    Automatic Upgrade Interval

    Indicates the interval for the IP phone to check for new upgrade files on the server.

    Set this parameter to Everyday, One week, One month, or Three months depending on your needs.

    Default: Everyday

    Parameter: UPGRDCYC

    Location: Device > ComCfg > UpgrdCycInfo

    Value: 86400, 604800, 2592000, or 7776000

    Unit: second

    Default: 86400

    Example: UPGRDCYC="86400"

    Manual Upgrade

    Indicates manual upgrade. You can import a local latest version file for phone upgrade.

    The file name cannot contain such characters as ; / ? : @ # ' & = + $ ,.
