Unpacking the Chassis

Unpacking the Chassis

This topic describe how to unpack the chassis before installing it. The chassis, CMAs (optional), and guide rails (optional) are independently packed.

  1. NOTICE:

The X6800 does not support preassembled transport, which may cause device damage.

Check whether the outer packing and seals of the chassis are in good condition.

If the outer packing is damaged (for example, the outer packing is soaked or deformed, or the seals or pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is unsealed), keep the field evidence and provide feedback to the supplier or Huawei.

  2. Use a manual pallet truck to move the chassis to the equipment room, and take away the manual pallet truck. See Figure 3-2.

    Figure 3-2 Moving a chassis

  3. Unpack the chassis.

    1. Use a box cutter to cut the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape on the packing case.

When using a box cutter to unpack a packing case, ensure that the knife edge is of a proper protrusion to avoid hurting hands or damaging the device in the packing case.

    2. Remove the packing case of the chassis, as shown in Figure 3-3. Table 3-3 lists items in the packing case.

The chassis configuration depends on the contract.

      Accessory box

The accessory box contains a warranty card, and a Quick Start Guide, and power cables.

      Server node

The quantity and configuration of the server node depend on the contract.

    3. Remove a packing case of the CMAs. See Figure 3-4.

      The CMAs are optional.

    4. Remove a packing case of the guide rails. See Figure 3-5.

    The guide rails are optional.
