Installing a Server Node

Installing a Server Node

Operation Scenario

The X6800 supports mixed configuration of XH628 V5 and XH628 V3 server nodes. In this case, the operating temperature of the server is the same as that of the XH628 V5 server node.

You need to install a server node in any of the following scenarios:

  • A chassis has been installed.
  • A server node needs to be added.
  • A server node needs to be replaced with a new one.
  • A server node has been repaired.

  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves.
  2. Take the spare server node out of the ESD bag, and raise the ejector lever.
  3. Horizontally insert the server node into a slot in the chassis, and ensure that the upper side of the ejector lever is fastened to the chassis beam. See (1) in Figure 3-11.

  4. Lower the ejector lever until its lower side snaps into the release button. See (2) in Figure 3-11.
