Configuring the iBMC

Scenarios

  • Change an iBMC user password.
NOTE:
  • The system enables the password complexity check function by default.
  • A simple password is easy to crack and makes the system vulnerable. You are advised to use a password that meets complexity requirements or to enable the password complexity check function.
  • To ensure system security, change the initial password at the first login and change the password periodically.
  • Set an iBMC IP address.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the iBMC WebUI. For details, see Logging In to the iBMC WebUI or CLI of the Server Node.
  2. Change an iBMC user password.

    1. On the iBMC WebUI, choose Config on the menu bar, choose User Settings in the navigation tree, and click the Local User tab in the right pane.

      The Local User page is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-28.

      NOTE:

      After you select Enable for Password Complexity Cheek, the system performs the password complexity check when a new password is set.

    2. Locate the user whose password is to be changed, and click.

      The page for changing the user password is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-29.

    3. Change the user password by following on-screen instructions.

  3. Set an iBMC IP address.

    1. On the iBMC WebUI, choose Config on the menu bar, choose Network Settings in the navigation tree, and select Select IP Version and Set IP in the right pane.

      The Select IP Version and Set IP page is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-30.

    2. Click the Manually set IP address option button.

      The page shown in Figure 4-31 is displayed.

    3. Set an IP address by following on-screen instructions.
    4. Click Save.
    5. Log in to the iBMC WebUI by using the manually specified IP address to verify the setting.
