Removing a Memory Module

Procedure

  1. Power off the server node.

    For details, see Power-Off Procedure.

  2. Remove the server node.

    For details, see Removing an XH628 V5.

  3. Place the server node on the ESD workstation.
  4. Remove the drive drawer.

    For details, see Removing the Drive Drawer.

  5. Lift the memory air ducts.

  6. Determine the position of the memory module.

  7. Remove the memory module.

    1. Open the memory module ejectors on the memory slot. See (1) in Figure 4-33.
    2. Remove the memory module from the slot. See (2) in Figure 4-33.

  8. Place the removed memory module in a memory box.
  9. Install memory modules.

    NOTE:

    Perform this operation only when a memory module is not installed immediately.
