Installing a PCIe Card

Procedure

  1. Power off the server node.

    For details, see Power-Off Procedure.

  2. Remove the server node.

    For details, see Removing an XH628 V5.

  3. Place the server node on the ESD workstation.
  4. Remove the drive drawer.

    For details, see Removing the Drive Drawer.

  5. Take the spare part out of its ESD bag.
  6. Determine the position of the PCIe card.
  7. Install the PCIe card.

    1. Holding the PCIe card bracket, insert the PCIe card into the bracket in the arrow direction. See (1) in Figure 3-22.
    2. Insert the PCIe card bracket into the front PCIe slot of the server node in the arrow direction. See (2) in Figure 3-22.
    3. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screw to secure the PCIe card bracket. See (3) in Figure 3-22.
    4. Install the server node panel in the arrow direction. See (4) in Figure 3-22.
    5. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screws on the node panel. See (5) in Figure 3-22.

  8. Install the drive drawer.

  9. Install the server node.

    For details, see Installing an XH628 V5.

  10. Power on the server node.
