Can Switches Set Up a CSS If They Use SRUs of Different Models?

Can Switches Set Up a CSS If They Use SRUs of Different Models?

  • For the S9300, the local and peer chassis with SRUs of different models can set up a CSS only in the following two situations:
    • The local and peer chassis use SRUAs and SRUBs respectively.
    • The local and peer chassis use SRUHs and SRUEs respectively and run V200R010C00 or a later version.
  • If two S9300Es set up a CSS using CSS cards, the two switches can only use SRUCs. If the two switches set up a CSS using service ports, the local and peer chassis can use SRUCs and SRUDs respectively. It is recommended that the two chassis use SRUs of the same model to set up a CSS.
  • Currently, S9300Xs can only use MFUXs.

Each chassis must be equipped with SRUs of the same model. If two chassis in a CSS use SRUs of different models, the CSS forwarding performance depends on the SRU with the lowest forwarding performance.
