Scenario

1

Collecting OIDS Database Files

For a dual-MPU or cluster switch, save OIDS database files on the standby MPU to the active MPU before querying them.

2

Checking OIDS Monitoring Information

You can check OIDS monitoring and event information after enabling the OIDS monitoring function.

OIDS monitoring information provides insight into the switch running status. For example, this information enables you to learn about diagnosis object attribute data, abnormal attributes, and KPI information.

OIDS event information enables you to learn about diagnosis object attributes that are abnormal or require special attention and to detect faulty services in a timely manner.

NOTE:

To learn about the OIDS monitoring and diagnosis items registered on the switch, run the display oids register-status command or see Appendix 1: OIDS Monitoring and Diagnosis Items Supported by the Switch.

To learn about the OIDS events registered on the switch, run the display oids register-event command or see Appendix 2: OIDS Events Supported by the Switch.

Checking OIDS Diagnosis Results

You can check OIDS diagnosis results after enabling the OIDS monitoring and diagnosis functions.

If a service module generates an abnormal event after detecting that KPI data exceeds the threshold, the service module triggers OIDS diagnosis. It then identifies and records the fault reason. You can check OIDS diagnosis results to facilitate the rapid location of faults.

Currently, only the CPU-CHAN diagnosis type supports the OIDS diagnosis function.
