Configuring QinQ-based Layer 2 Protocol Transparent Transmission
When each interface of a backbone device is connected to multiple user networks and Layer 2 protocol packets sent from user networks contain VLAN tags, configure QinQ-based Layer 2 protocol transparent transmission. This configuration allows Layer 2 protocol packets to be transparently transmitted on the backbone network and reduces VLAN IDs that the carrier uses.
Pre-configuration Tasks
- Set link layer protocol parameters and IP addresses for interfaces to ensure that the link layer protocol on the interfaces is Up.
Use the bpdu enable command to enable the interfaces to send BPDUs to the CPU.
