How Do I Configure a User-Side Interface on an STP Switch?
Terminal devices cannot participate in the STP calculation or respond to STP packets. You can configure a user-side interface as follows:
- Method 1 (recommended): Run the stp edge-port enable command to configure the port as an STP edge port, and run the stp bpdu-filter enable command to enable the BPDU packet filtering function and prevent the port from sending BPDU packets. This method also prevents loops and is recommended.
- Method 2: Run the stp disable command on the port to disable the STP protocol and make the port remain in Forwarding state.
