Collecting VLAN Traffic Statistics

Context

You can enable traffic statistics collection on a VLAN or on a VLANIF interface to monitor VLAN traffic.

Procedure

  • Check VLAN traffic statistics.
    1. (Optional) Run the vlan statistics interval command in the system view to set the VLAN traffic statistics collection interval.
    2. (Optional) Run the vlan statistics { by-packets | by-bytes } command in the system view to set the VLAN traffic statistics collection mode. You can configure the switch to collect VLAN traffic statistics based on packets or bytes.

      NOTE:

      Only the S1720GF, S1720GFR, S1720GW, S1720GW-E, S1720GWR, S1720GWR-E, S1720X, S1720X-E, S2720EI, S2750EI, S5700LI, S5700S-LI, S5710-X-LI, S5720I-SI, S5720LI, S5720S-LI, S5720S-SI, S5720SI, S5730S-EI, S5730SI, S6720LI, S6720S-LI, S6720S-SI, and S6720SI support this configuration.

    3. Run the statistic enable command in the VLAN view to enable VLAN traffic statistics collection.
    4. Run the display vlan vlan-id statistics command in any view to check traffic statistics about a specified VLAN.
  • Check traffic statistics about a VLANIF interface.
    1. Run the statistic enable command in the VLANIF interface view to enable traffic statistics collection.

      NOTE:

      Only the S5720EI, S5720HI, S5730HI, S6720EI, S6720HI, and S6720S-EI support this configuration.

    2. Run the display interface vlanif [ vlan-id ] command in any view to check traffic statistics about a VLANIF interface.
