Checking the License File
A license file grants the permission to use a specific value-added feature. Before configuring SmartTier, ensure that its license is valid.
Procedure
- Log in to DeviceManager.
- Choose
Settings >
License Management.
- Verify that SmartTier (for FS) is displayed in the feature list.

License Management.Follow-up Procedure
- If no license for SmartTier is available, apply for a license file and import it. For details about how to do so, see Installation Guide.
You can log in to Huawei's technical support website (https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/) and enter the product model + document name in the search box to search for, browse, and download the desired documents.
- If the storage system generates an alarm indicating that the license expired, obtain and import the license again.
