eSight-based Networking Scheme

Technical Report 069 (TR-069) is a standard device management protocol developed from the CPE WAN Management Protocol (CWMP) published by the Broadband Forum. Through the TR-069 protocol, eSight can remotely manage the connected Box 500.

Figure 3-2 shows a Box 500 connecting to eSight.

Figure 3-2 Connecting to eSight

In this networking scheme:

  • eSight integrates the profile server and Simple Traversal of UDP through NAT (STUN) server.
  • The profile server enables the Box 500 to upload and download configuration files and upgrade software packages through HTTPS.
  • The STUN server is used for traversal between public and private networks to ensure that eSight manages all devices on both networks.
  • The Box 500 can be deployed on the public or private network, but eSight must be deployed on the public network.
    • If the Box 500 is deployed on the public network, it can be managed by eSight through TR-069.
    • For the Box 500 deployed on the private network, eSight can manage it through TR-111 after the STUN service is enabled.
