Specifying Icon Settings

Specifying Icon Settings

You can configure icons to be displayed on the display to facilitate quick operations and network status check.

Procedure

  1. Choose System Settings > GUI Display and click the Icon tab.
  2. Select the icons you want to display on the display.
  3. Set packet loss thresholds.

In voice meetings (data conferencing included), the packet loss rate is the only factor that determines how the packet loss icon is displayed. The following table describes the policy in which the packet loss icon appears on the display.

Table 1-7  Packet loss icon display policy for voice meetings

    Packet Loss Rate

Packet Loss Icon on the Display

    < 5%

    No icon.

    ≥ 5%

    ≥ 10%

    ≥ 20%

In video meetings (data conferencing included), the packet loss icon display policy is determined by the result of comparison between the actual packet loss rate and effective bandwidth proportion and their specified thresholds. The following table describes the policy in which the packet loss icon appears on the display.
    NOTE:

The value range is 0.1% to 100%, and threshold A must be less than threshold B. The default values for thresholds A and B are 1% and 5% respectively.

Table 1-8  Packet loss icon display policy for video meetings

    Effective Bandwidth Proportion

    Packet Loss Rate

Packet Loss Icon on the Display

    ≥ 40%

    ≤ 0%

    No icon.

    ≤ Threshold A

    ≤ Threshold B

    ≥ Threshold B

≤ 40% (video not automatically disabled in case of network deceleration)

    ≤ 0%

    ≤ Threshold A

    ≤ Threshold B

    ≥ Threshold B

≤ 40% (video not automatically disabled in case of network deceleration)

    ≤ 0%

    ≤ Threshold A

    ≤ Threshold B

    ≥ Threshold B

After Severe packet loss alert is enabled, the packet loss rate percentage will be displayed next to the packet loss rate icon on the display if the packet loss rate is greater than threshold B by 5 seconds or more.

  4. Click Save.

    The settings take effect immediately.
