Controlling Audio

On your endpoint, you can adjust the audio effects. For example, you can adjust the volume of the microphone and speaker.

Procedure

  1. Choose Device Control > Device Control and click the Audio Control tab.
  2. Set the audio control parameters listed in Table 4-3.

    Mutes or unmutes all microphones.

    The default value is Unmute.

    MIC 1

    Adjusts the microphone volume at your site. When you adjust this microphone volume, the volume heard at remote sites is adjusted accordingly.

    The default value is +0 dB.

    Value range: -12 dB to +12 dB

    LINE IN L (only for the Box 700 and Box 900)

    LINE IN R (only for the Box 700 and Box 900)

    Adjusts the input volume of the LINE IN port at your site. When you adjust this input volume, the volume heard at remote sites is adjusted accordingly.

    The default value is +0dB.

    Value range: -12 dB to +12 dB

    HDMI L (only for the Box 500 and Box 700)

    HDMI R (only for the Box 500 and Box 700)

    Adjusts the input volume of the HDMI port at your site. When you adjust this input volume, the volume heard at remote sites is adjusted accordingly.

    The default value is +0 dB.

    Value range: -12 dB to +12 dB

    HDMI 1 L (only for the Box 900)

    HDMI 1 R (only for the Box 900)

    Adjusts the input volume of the HDMI 1 port at your site. When you adjust this input volume, the volume heard at remote sites is adjusted accordingly.

    The default value is +0dB.

    Value range: -12 dB to +12 dB

    HDMI 2 L (only for the Box 900)

    HDMI 2 R (only for the Box 900)

    Adjusts the input volume of the HDMI 2 port at your site. When you adjust this input volume, the volume heard at remote sites is adjusted accordingly.

    The default value is +0dB.

    Value range: -12 dB to +12 dB

    RCA L

    RCA R

    Adjusts the input volume of the RCA port at your site. When you adjust this input volume, the volume heard at remote sites is adjusted accordingly.

    The default value is +0dB.

    Value range: -12 dB to +12 dB

    Adjusts the gain volume of the microphone array.

    The default value is +0dB.

    Audio Output

    Speaker

    Mutes or unmutes the speaker at your site. To hear other sites, unmute the speaker.

    The default value is Unmute.

    Volume

    Adjusts the output volume heard at your site. If both left and right audio channels are available, the volume of both channels is adjusted at the same time.

    The default value is 15.

    Value range: 0-21

    Recommended value: 15-18

    Alert tone volume

    Increases or decreases the alert tone volume.

    The default value is 3.

    Value range: 0-3

    Sound Effect

    AUDIO IN local output

    Specifies whether to allow the audio input from the LINE IN port, the HDMI port, or the RCA port to be heard at your site.

    The default value is Mute.

    AUDIO IN remote output

    Specifies whether to allow the audio input from the LINE IN port, the HDMI port, or the RCA port to be heard at remote sites.

    The default value is Unmute.

    AUDIO IN echo cancellation

    Specifies whether the endpoint performs echo cancellation on the audio sources from the LINE IN, HDMI, and RCA ports.
    NOTE:
    Set this parameter to Mute when the RCA port on the endpoint is connected to an audio player device such as a computer.

    The default value is Unmute.

    Music Mode

    Set this parameter to Unmute to improve the musical effects in the following scenario:

    The local microphone picks up music played at the local site and transmits the music to the local endpoint, and AUDIO IN echo cancellation is set to Unmute.

    The default value is Mute.

    Bass

    Middle

    Treble

    Adjusts the gain of bass, middle, and treble tones.

    The default value is +0dB.

    Value range: -6 dB to +6 dB
