Impact on the System

You can modify parameters on the two devices to be consistent to solve this problem. Services are not affected in most cases.

Possible Causes

The interface authentication was incorrectly configured.

Procedure

  1. Run the display current-configuration command to check whether the area authentication modes on the two devices are consistent; run the display current-configuration interface command to check whether the interface authentication modes on the two devices are consistent. Priority of the interface authentication mode is higher than that of the area authentication mode.

    • If they are consistent, go to Step 3.
    • If they are inconsistent, go to Step 2.

  2. Perform the following operations according to networking status:

    • If the networking status allows consistent configurations on both ends, go to Step 3.
    • If the networking status does not allow consistent configurations on both ends, go to Step 4.

  3. Set the same authentication password on both ends if the plaintext authentication mode is set. Reconfigure authentication modes. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 5.
    • If the alarm persists, go to Step 4.

  4. Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel technical support personnel.
  5. End.
