Impact on the System

If no active/standby switchover is performed, the active MPU may be faulty.

Possible Causes

The master/slave switchover was performed or the active MPU was faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether active/standby switchover was performed.

    • If so, no action is required.

    • If not, go to step 2.

  2. Run the display device [ slot slot-id ] command to check whether the original active MPU has been registered successfully.

    • If so, go to step 4.

    • If not, go to step 3.

  3. Remove and install the original active MPU. After the MPU is started successfully, check whether the MPU is registered successfully.

    • If so, go to step 4.

    • If not, go to step 5.

  4. Check whether the original active MPU is faulty. Check whether the active/standby switchover can be performed.

    • If so, go to step 6.

    • If not, go to step 5.

  5. Collect traps, logs, and configurations, and contact technical support personnel.
  6. End
