Enabling the DHCPv6 Function

Enabling the DHCPv6 Function

Before configuring the device to function as a DHCPv6 server, enable the DHCPv6 function on the device.

A DUID uniquely identifies a DHCPv6 device. Each DHCPv6 client or server must have only one DUID. A DHCPv6 server identifies clients based on client DUIDs, and a DHCPv6 client identifies servers based on server DUIDs.

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run dhcpv6 enable

    The DHCPv6 function is enabled globally.

    By default, the DHCPv6 function is disabled.

  3. (Optional) Run dhcpv6 duid { duid-value | llt | ll }

    A DUID is set for a DHCPv6 device.

    By default, a DUID is generated in DUID-LL mode.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
