(Optional) Configuring Automatic Reclamation of Conflicting IP Addresses in an Address Pool


When a DHCPv6 server assigns IPv6 addresses to clients, address conflict may occur because IPv6 addresses of some clients have been manually configured. In this case, the DHCP server considers these IP addresses as conflicting IP addresses, and assigns available IP addresses from the conflicting IP addresses to clients only after available IP addresses in the address pool are used up. To reclaim conflicting IP addresses promptly, you can set the interval for automatically reclaiming conflicting addresses on the device.


  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run dhcpv6 pool pool-name

    An IPv6 address pool is created and the IPv6 address pool view is displayed.

    By default, no IPv6 address pool is created.

  3. Run conflict-address expire-time expire-time

    The aging time for conflicting addresses in the IPv6 address pool is set.

    By default, the aging time of conflicting addresses is 172800s (2 days).

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
