PIM/4/CRT_SG_FAIL:In the VPN instance, PIM-SSM failed to create the (S,G) entry in the multicast routing table. (VPNName=[VPNName], GrpAddr=[GrpAddr], SrcAddr=[SrcAddr])

Description

Failed to create the (S, G) entry.

Parameters

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The multicast source was filtered out.

Cause 2: The memory was not enough.

Cause 3: The current route entries reached the upper limit.

Procedure

  • Cause 1: The multicast source was filtered out.
    1. Run the display acl { acl-number | name acl-name | all } command to ensure the (S, G) will not be filtered out, that is, ensure that the source address and group address will not be denied by the ACL applied to multicast.

      • If the fault is rectified, proceed to Step 3.
      • If the fault persists, proceed to Step 2.

    2. Collect log messages and contact technical support personnel.
    3. End.
  • Cause 2: The memory was not enough.
    1. Ensure that system memory is enough.

      • If the fault is rectified, proceed to Step 3.
      • If the fault persists, proceed to Step 2.

    2. Collect log messages and contact technical support personnel.
    3. End.
  • Cause 3: The current route entries reached the upper limit.
    1. Run the display pim routing-table and display multicast routing-table commands to check the total number of PIM entries and multicast routing entries. Ensure that the total number does not reach the upper limit specified in the current PIM version.

      • If the fault is rectified, proceed to Step 3.
      • If the fault persists, proceed to Step 2.

    2. Collect log messages and contact technical support personnel.
