OSPF/4/OSPF_TX_RETRANSMIT

OSPF/4/OSPF_TX_RETRANSMIT

Message

OSPF/4/OSPF_TX_RETRANSMIT: An OSPF packet is retransmitted on a non-virtual interface. (RouterId=[RouterId], IfIpAddress=[IfIpAddress], AddressLessIf=[AddressLessIf], NbrIfIpAddress=[NbrIfIpAddress], NbrAddressLessIf=[NbrAddressLessIf], IfNeighbor=[IfNeighbor], PacketType=[PacketType], LsdbAreaId=[LsdbAreaId], LsdbType=[LsdbType], LsdbLsid=[LsdbLsid], LsdbRouterId=[LsdbRouterId])

Description

An OSPF packet was retransmitted on a non-virtual interface. The possible cause is that the physical link of the non-virtual interface was faulty.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning

[RouterId]

ID of the local switch

[IfIpAddress]

IP address of the non-virtual interface

[AddressLessIf]

Interface index

[NbrIfIpAddress]

IP address of the neighbor interface

[NbrAddressLessIf]

Index of the neighbor interface

[IfNeighbor]

ID of the neighbor router

[PacketType]

Packet type

[LsdbAreaId]

Area ID in the LSDB

[LsdbType]

LSDB type

[LsdbLsid]

LS ID in the LSDB

[LsdbRouterId]

Router ID in the LSDB

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The address used to forward the packet cannot be pinged.

Cause 2: The peer end considered the packet to be invalid.

Procedure

  1. Count the retransmissions of each retransmitted packet.

    • If only a few packets had been retransmitted for once or twice, it is a normal situation and no action is required. Go to Step 5.
    • If massive packets had been retransmitted continuously for many times, go to Step 2.

  2. In the alarm information, find the IP address of the neighbor to which the packet was retransmitted, and run the ping command to ping the IP address.

    • If the ping operation fails, go to Step 4.
    • If the ping operation succeeds, go to Step 3.

  3. Check whether the alarm whose OID is 1.3.6.1.2.1.14.16.2.9 had been generated on the local and peer routers. If the alarm had been generated, go to Step 1; otherwise, go to Step 4.
  4. Contact technical support personnel technical support personnel.
  5. End.
