Enabling Automatic Buffer Optimization of Lossless Queues

Enabling Automatic Buffer Optimization of Lossless Queues

Context

After automatic buffer optimization of lossless queues is enabled, the device assigns the chip-level shared buffer, sets the proper service pool and headroom pool, and classifies service pools into service pools for lossy and lossless queues. The device assigns the queue-based buffer to lossless queues based on the headroom pool and service pool of lossless queues. This ensures that packets of lossless queues are transmitted with no loss.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run low-latency fabric

The low-latency network function is enabled and the low-latency network view is displayed.

By default, the low-latency network function is not enabled.

    NOTE:

The low-latency fabric command does not take effect immediately after configuration, but takes effect after you save the configuration and restart the device.

  3. Run qos buffer auto-configuration enable

Automatic buffer optimization of lossless queues is enabled.

By default, automatic buffer optimization of lossless queues is disabled.

    NOTE:

After the low-latency network function is enabled, automatic buffer optimization of lossless queues is enabled on the device by default. You can run the undo qos buffer auto-configuration enable command to disable automatic buffer optimization of lossless queues.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
