Configuring Differentiated Scheduling for Elephant and Mice Flows in Lossless Queues

Context

To ensure lossless forwarding of lossless services, you can enable differentiated scheduling for elephant and mice flows in a specific lossless queue. After this function is enabled, the device records the packet information in lossless queues in flow table entries, and identifies elephant flows based on the flow table entries and elephant flow identification parameters. Then the device forwards elephant flows in low-priority queues and forwards mice flows in high-priority queues, implementing differentiated scheduling of the elephant and mice flows. This ensures the FCT of mice flows.

NOTE:

Only the CE6865EI supports this function.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run low-latency fabric

    The low-latency network function is enabled and the low-latency network view is displayed.

    By default, the low-latency network function is not enabled.

    NOTE:

    After running this command, you need to save the configuration and restart the device to make the configuration take effect. You can restart the device immediately or after all the configurations are complete.

  3. Run qos mice-elephant-flow enable

    Differentiation of elephant and mice flows in lossless queues is enabled.

    By default, differentiation of elephant and mice flows in lossless queues is disabled.

    NOTE:

    After running this command, you need to save the configuration and restart the device to make the configuration take effect. You can restart the device immediately or after all the configurations are complete.

  4. Run qos mice-elephant-flow queue queue-index scheduling

    Differentiated scheduling is enabled for elephant and mice flows in the specified lossless queue.

    By default, differentiated scheduling of elephant and mice flows is disabled for the specific lossless queue.

  5. Run qos mice-elephant-flow elephant-flow-rate elephant-flow-rate [ kbps | mbps | gbps ] [ elephant-flow-size elephant-flow-size [ bytes | kbytes | mbytes ] ]

    The elephant flow identification parameters are configured.

    By default, the elephant flow identification parameters are not configured.

  6. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
