Context

  • Aggregation time for the device to send the CNP packet:

    During network congestion, the forwarding device and the destination server enabled with the fast CNP function respond to the same packet tagged with the ECN field and send the CNP packet to the source server. In this way, the traffic rate of the source server will be reduced.

    In this case, the aggregation time for sending the CNP packet can be set on the forwarding device enabled with the fast CNP function. When receiving the CNP packet from a downstream device, the forwarding device checks the time difference from the last CNP packet. If the difference is shorter than the aggregation time, the CNP packet received from the downstream device is discarded.

  • Aging time of flow table entries:

    After the fast CNP function is enabled, the device records the packet information in the flow table entries when forwarding the packet. After receiving the packet tagged with the ECN field, the device sends the CNP packet to the source server based on the learned flow table entries. The entries are not always valid. Each entry has a lifecycle. The entry that has never been updated within its lifecycle will be deleted. This lifecycle is called aging time.

    You can adjust the aging time of flow table entries to ensure that new flow entries can be generated.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run low-latency fabric

    The low-latency network function is enabled and the system view is displayed.

    By default, the low-latency network function is not enabled.

    NOTE:

    The low-latency fabric command does not take effect immediately after configuration, but takes effect after you save the configuration and restart the device.

  3. Run qos fast-cnp aggregate-time aggregate-time [ ms | seconds | us ]

    The aggregation time for the device to send the CNP packet to the source server is adjusted.

    By default, the aggregation time for the device to send the CNP packet to the source server is 50 μs.

  4. Run qos fast-cnp flow-table age-time age-time

    The aging time of the flow table entries used by the device to send the CNP packet is adjusted.

    By default, the aging time of the flow table entries used by the device to send the CNP packet is 3 seconds.

  5. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
