POE/4/PDINVALIDCLASS: OID [oid] PD with invalid IEEE class and power denied.(IfIndex=[INTEGER], Interface="[OCTET]")

The PD cannot be powered on by the PoE-capable card because it does not comply with IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at.

Name Meaning

Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.

IfIndex Indicates the interface index.
Interface Indicates the interface name.

Impact on the System

The PD cannot be powered on by the PoE-capable card.

Possible Causes

The PD does not comply with IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at.


  • Replace the PD with one that complies with IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at.
  • Run the poe legacy enable command to enable compatibility check of connected PDs. If the PD does not comply with IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at, the PDs cannot be powered on.


    It is recommended that you do not use the PoE-capable card to provide power for PDs that do not comply with IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at.
