Description

AMPADP/2/ONT_ROGUE: OID [oid] GPON ONU's optical-module always send laser.

The GPON ONU optical module constantly transmits optical signals.

Impact on the System

Packet loss occurs on the port where the rogue ONT resides. As a result, the service quality deteriorates and the ONT that has not gone online cannot properly go online.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: A rogue ONT resides on the port, and the rogue ONT does not support Huawei extended PLOAM or cannot enable or disable the transmit power supply of the optical module.

Cause 2: The ONT is faulty. As a result, the ONT is incorrectly detected to continuously generate optical signals.

Procedure

  1. Replace the ONT. Wait for one automatic ONT discovery period, and check whether the system generates a recovery alarm.

    • If so, go to step 3.
    • If not, go to step 2.

  2. Collect alarm, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
  3. End.
