OSPF/4/IFBADRX:OID [oid]: An OSPF packet that is received on a non-virtual interface cannot be parsed. (IfIpAddress=[ip-address], AddressLessIf=[interface-index], ProcessId=[process-id], RouterId=[router-id], PacketSrc=[source-ip-address], PacketType=[packet-type], InstanceName=[instance-name])

An OSPF packet that cannot be parsed was received from a non-virtual-link interface. The possible cause was that the device was attacked or the interconnection between the Huawei device and non-Huawei device failed.

Name Meaning


Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.


Indicates the IP address of the non-virtual-link interface.


Indicates the index of the interface.


Indicates the process ID.


Indicates the ID of the local router.


Indicates the source IP address of the packet.


Indicates the type of the packet.
  • 1: Hello packet
  • 2: DD packet
  • 3: Request packet
  • 4: Update packet
  • 5: Acknowledgement packet
  • 6: Update packet Retrans
  • 7: Update packet flood


Indicates the instance name.

Impact on the System

This trap message is generated when a common interface receives an incorrect packet and then discards this packet. This may cause the neighbor to be Down.

Possible Causes

An incorrect packet was received from the non virtual-link interface on the peer end.


  1. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
  2. End.
