Description

FR/4/TRAP:OID [oid] Interface [interface-index] DLCI [dlci] turns into [state] state (invalid(1), active(2), inactive(3)).

The trap was generated when the PVC status changed. You can run the display fr pvc-info command to view the current PVC status.

Parameters

Name Meaning

oid

Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.

interface-index

Indicates the index of the interface.

dlci

Indicates the number of the Data Link Connection Identifier (DLCI). It ranges from 16 to 1022.

state

Indicates the number of the state. The mapping is as follows:
  • 1: invalid
  • 2: active
  • 3: inactive

Impact on the System

If the PVC status becomes inactive, the PVC is unavailable and then the mapping entries of the PVC are deleted. Finally, traffic cannot be normally forwarded.

If the PVC status becomes active, the PVC is available.

Possible Causes

The reasons of the PVC status became inactive are as follows:

The interface configured with the PVC was shut down.

2.

The interface configured with the PVC failed to negotiate with the peer.

Procedure

  1. Run the display fr pvc-info command to check the PVC status.

    • If the PVC status is active, it indicates that the PVC is available. Then, go to Step 8.

    • If the PVC status is inactive, you can run the display fr pvc-info command to view the interface where the PVC resides. Then, go to Step 2.

  2. Run the display interface command to view the physical status of the interface.

    • If the interface is administratively Down, go to Step 3.

    • If the interface is Up, go to Step 4.

  3. Run the undo shutdown command in the interface view. Then, run the display fr pvc-info command to check whether the PVC status becomes active.

    • If so, go to Step 8.

    • If not, go to Step 4.

  4. Run the display interface command to check whether the protocol status of the interface is Up.

    • If so, go to Step 7.

    • If not, go to Step 5.

  5. Run the display this command in the interface view to check whether FR configurations are correct. For details, refer to "FR Configuration" in the Huawei AR100&AR120&AR150&AR160&AR200&AR1200&AR2200&AR3200&AR3600 Series Enterprise Routers Configuration Guide - WAN Access.

    • If so, go to Step 7.

    • If not, go to Step 6.

  6. Modify FR configurations on the interfaces on both ends of the PVC to be consistent. After 30 seconds, run the display fr pvc-info command to check whether the PVC status becomes active.

    • If so, go to Step 8.

    • If not, go to Step 7.

  7. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
  8. End.
