(Optional) Binding a GRE Tunnel to a BFD Session

You can bind a GRE tunnel to a BFD session so that BFD can monitor the link status.

Context

The configuration of binding a GRE tunnel to a BFD session provides a detection mechanism for the GRE tunnel by using BFD to monitor the link status. If the BFD session goes Down, the GRE tunnel also goes Down.

NOTE:
V300R003C10 and later versions support this function.

Procedure

  1. Run:

    system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run:

    interface tunnel interface-number

    The tunnel interface view is displayed.

  3. Run:

    gre track bfd-session session-name bfd-session-name

    The GRE tunnel is bound to a BFD session.

    NOTE:
    Before running this command, ensure that a BFD session is created.
