What Do "Delete" and "Permanently Delete" Mean?

What Do "Delete" and "Permanently Delete" Mean?

  • Delete an ECS from the ECS list: The ECS is added to the recycle bin, and the ECS in the Running or Faulty state automatically shuts down.
  • Delete an ECS from the recycle bin: The ECS is permanently deleted. When an ECS is permanently deleted, related resources are processed in different ways depending on Billing Mode.
    • For an ECS whose Billing Mode is Metered: The mounted system disk is deleted, the data disk is detached, and the EIP is unbound from the ECS.
    • For an ECS whose Billing Mode is Yearly/Monthly:
      • The system disk and non-shared disk selected during application are deleted regardless of whether they are mounted or not.
      • The shared disk selected during application or the data disk mounted after the application is uninstalled.
      • An EIP is unbound from the ECS.

Regardless of the billing mode, EVS disk snapshots created by associated EVS disks are also deleted after the associated EVS disks are deleted.
