High-Risk Operations

High-Risk Operations

During the maintenance of the management plane hybrid cloud, carefully follow the operation instructions when performing operations listed in Table 10-1 to prevent hidden risks to the devices. This section describes only high-risk operations specific to the management plane hybrid cloud. For details about other high-risk operations of ManageOne, see "High-Risk and Forbidden Operations" > "Cloud Management" > "ManageOne" > "High-Risk Operations" in FusionCloud 6.3.1 O&M Guide.

Preventive Measure

Check Item

Deleting a security group rule

The communication between ECSs within a security group and between different groups will be interrupted.

4

Add security group rules again based on actual communication requirements.

Log in to the ECS in the security group and check the network connectivity.

Unbinding an EIP from an ECS

After an EIP is unbound from the ECS, the ECS cannot communicate with external networks using the EIP.

3

Rebind the EIP based on actual communication requirements.

Check whether the EIP is unbound from the ECS successfully.

Deleting or modifying a VPN

The communication between the ECS and the VPN will be interrupted.

5

Reconfigure the VPN according to the actual communication requirements.

Log in to the ECS in a subnet of the VPC associated to the VPN and check the network connectivity.

Detaching an EVS disk

After the EVS disk is detached, the data in the EVS disk cannot be read. User data may be lost due to misoperations.

3

Confirm that the detachment is necessary before performing this operation. If the EVS disk is incorrectly detached, attach it again.

Log in to the ECS and check whether certain data is unexpectedly deleted.

Deleting an EVS disk

After the EVS disk is deleted, it cannot be attached to any ECS.

5

Confirm that the deletion is necessary before performing this operation. If the EVS disk is deleted incorrectly, restore it from the recycle bin.

Log in to the ECS and check whether certain data is unexpectedly deleted.

Stopping an ECS

This operation interrupts ongoing services.

3

Check whether the ECS needs to be stopped.

Check whether the ECS is successfully stopped and whether the services carried by the ECS are affected unexpectedly.

Forcibly stopping an ECS

This operation interrupts ongoing services and may cause the data in the EVS disks of the ECS to be damaged.

5

Properly stopping an ECS

Check whether the ECS is stopped successfully. Restart the ECS and check whether the ECS data is lost.

Restarting an ECS

This operation interrupts ongoing services.

3

Check whether the ECS needs to be restarted.

Check whether the ECS is running properly.

Forcibly restarting an ECS

This operation interrupts ongoing services.

5

Properly restarting an ECS

Check whether the ECS is running properly.

Changing flavors and NICs

After the ECS flavor is changed, the ECS will be restarted. As a result, services are interrupted. After the NIC of an ECS is changed, the ECS communication may be interrupted. You need to manually restart the ECS for the change to take effect.

4

Confirm that the change is necessary before performing this operation. If the flavor and NIC of the ECS are incorrectly changed, change them again.

Check whether the ECS is running properly.

Deleting an ECS

The ECS will be moved to the recycle bin. You can delete it permanently from the recycle bin. The ECS moved to the recycle bin will stop automatically.

4

Confirm that the deletion is necessary before performing this operation. If the ECS is deleted incorrectly, restore it from the recycle bin.

Check whether the ECS is deleted successfully.

Adding an ECS to or deleting an ECS from a security group

The ECS network may be interrupted.

4

Confirm that the adding or deletion is necessary before performing this operation.

Check whether the ECS is added to or deleted from the security group. Check whether there are unexpected impacts on the network communication of the ECS.

Modifying the configuration information of a resource pool

After the configuration information is modified, some functions may become unavailable.

3

Make sure that the modified configuration information is correct.

Check whether the functions are available.
