Applying for a HUAWEI CLOUD EIP

If service resources need to be accessed by external services or access the public network using fixed public IP addresses, apply for EIPs.


The HUAWEI CLOUD EIP that you want to apply for has been brought online. Operation administrators, VDC administrators, or agent administrators can bring products online.


  1. Use a browser to log in to the ManageOne operation plane as a VDC administrator, a VDC operator, or an agent administrator.

  2. In the left part of the main menu, select a region and a project.
  3. Choose Console > Network > Elastic IP(HWS) from the main menu.
  4. Click Apply for EIP.
  5. In the displayed dialog box, select the desired HUAWEI CLOUD EIP and click Apply Now.
  6. Set parameters as described in Figure 8-2.

    Most EIP parameters have been preset. You can modify them as prompted.

    Table 8-2 describes the parameters.

    Indicates the type of the HUAWEI CLOUD EIP, including dynamic BGP and static BGP. The parameter value varies according to regions.

    Billing Mode

    Indicates the billing mode. You can select the optimal billing mode (yearly, monthly, or on-demand) based on your HUAWEI CLOUD EIP usage time requirements.

    The billing modes supported in different regions may vary.


    You can either define a bandwidth or select an existing bandwidth for the HUAWEI CLOUD EIP.

    Bandwidth Name

    If a new bandwidth is created, the parameter value is automatically generated and can be modified. If an existing bandwidth is used, select the bandwidth name, which cannot be modified.

    An existing bandwidth cannot be used in the yearly or monthly billing mode.

    Bandwidth Type

    There are two bandwidth types:

    • Exclusive: indicates that the bandwidth can be used only by this HUAWEI CLOUD EIP.
    • Shared: indicates that the bandwidth can be used by multiple HUAWEI CLOUD EIPs.

      A bandwidth cannot be shared in the yearly or monthly EIP billing mode.

    Billed By

    Indicates whether the EIP is billed by bandwidth or by traffic.

    The billing basis supported in different regions may vary.

    This parameter is valid only when Bandwidth is set to Allocate New.

    Bandwidth Size (Mbit/s)

    Indicates the bandwidth size. You can manually set the bandwidth, or drag the control bar to set the bandwidth.

    The minimum shared bandwidth must be 5 Mbit/s. The bandwidth size is not restricted for a non-shared bandwidth.

    Quantity Applied For

    Indicates the number of HUAWEI CLOUD EIPs that are applied for. Set this parameter to smaller than 10.

    Duration Applied For

    Indicates the service duration of the HUAWEI CLOUD EIP.

  7. Click Submit.
  8. After the order is submitted successfully, you can view the order status on the My Orders page.


    When bringing a product of HUAWEI CLOUD EIPs online, you can set approvals for applying for, deleting, and extending the product.

    • If Yes in the Approve column corresponding to the Apply for approval item is selected, after you submit the order for applying for the HUAWEI CLOUD EIP, contact the approver included in the order details. The approver can approve the order on the My Approvals page. After being approved, the order is automatically executed.
    • Otherwise, the system automatically executes the order after the application order is submitted.
