Managing HUAWEI CLOUD VPC Routing Tables

Managing HUAWEI CLOUD VPC Routing Tables

Routing tables are used to manage the network traffic direction rules of HUAWEI CLOUD VPCs. You can use the routing table function to add user-defined routes for a HUAWEI CLOUD VPC so that HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs that are not bound to HUAWEI CLOUD EIPs can access the Internet through those bound with HUAWEI CLOUD EIPs.

Context

To use the routing table function, you need to deploy SNAT for HUAWEI CLOUD ECSs that have EIPs bound so that other ECSs in the VPC that are not bound with EIPs can access the Internet using SNAT. For details about how to configure SNAT, see "Configuring SNAT" in HUAWEI CLOUD Help Center.

Procedure

  1. Use a browser to log in to the ManageOne operation plane as a VDC administrator, a VDC operator, or an agent administrator.

In the non-B2B scenario, the login address format is https://Address for accessing the Console page, for example, https://console.type.com.

In the B2B scenario, the login address format is https://Address used by VDC users to access the ManageOne operation plane, for example, https://console.type.com.

  2. In the left part of the main menu, select a region and a project.
  3. Choose Console > Network > Virtual Private Cloud(HWS) from the main menu.
  4. In the HUAWEI CLOUD VPC list, click the name of the desired HUAWEI CLOUD VPC to go to the details page.
  5. On the Routing Table tab page, click Add Route. In the displayed dialog box, set the route information, as shown in Figure 6-5.

Figure 6-5 Setting the routing information

    Parameter description:

    • Destination Address: Indicates the network segment of the accessed Internet.
    • Next-Hop: Indicates the private IP address of the HUAWEI CLOUD ECS that has an EIP bound in the HUAWEI CLOUD VPC subnet.

Follow-up Operations

After adding a routing table, you can modify the routing table information or delete the routing table that is no longer used.
